Launched in 2022, the Air Blade 2022 scooter offers users two engine options: 125cc and 150cc. What sets these two versions apart? Let's find out.

1. General Information about the 2022 Air Blade Scooter

Since its debut in 2007, the Honda Air Blade scooter has quickly gained popularity among Vietnamese consumers, particularly among male riders, thanks to its sporty design and powerful engine.

The 2022 Air Blade is the latest 5th generation model, garnering significant interest. This version introduces the option of a 150cc engine alongside the traditional 125cc option.

With the introduction of the Air Blade 150cc variant alongside the standard 125cc version, many users may find themselves torn between the two options. What are the differences between the two 2022 Honda Air Blade models, and which one suits you best? Let's explore below.

2. The Difference between the Air Blade 125cc and 150cc Scooters

- Variation in Retail Prices

Firstly, let's discuss the pricing of these two models. According to information obtained from retailers, the selling price of the Air Blade 150cc scooter is significantly higher than that of the 125cc engine variant. Specifically, here are the detailed reference prices:

Honda Air Blade 125cc 2022 Scooter:

  • Standard Version: 41,190,000 VND
  • Special Edition: 42,390,000 VND

Honda Air Blade 150cc 2022 Scooter:

  • Standard Version: 55,190,000 VND
  • Special Edition: 56,390,000 VND

Thus, the price difference between the Honda Air Blade 150cc and the 125cc model is approximately 14 million VND. This can be attributed to the higher engine specifications and the presence of more utility features that provide a different experience for the rider.

- Design Differences

The overall design of both the Air Blade 125cc and 150cc is similar, featuring sleek and decisive 'X' motifs. Compared to previous Air Blade generations, the 2022 model is evaluated to have a more subtle appearance with smoother, more graceful curves.

The differences in design between the 125cc and 150cc versions lie in their color schemes and dimensions.

The Honda Air Blade 125cc boasts smaller dimensions at 1,870mm x 687mm x 1,091mm and weighs 111kg. In contrast, the Air Blade 150 has dimensions of 1,870mm x 686mm x 1,112mm and weighs 113kg.

The Air Blade 125cc comes in a total of 3 color options: Black for the special edition, and Red Black, Blue Black for the standard edition. The 150cc engine variant offers slightly more color variety with 4 options: Gray Blue Black, Black Silver, Red Silver Black, and Blue Silver Black.

- Equipment Differences

Both versions of the Air Blade scooter feature modern amenities such as LED lights, LCD dashboard, and a spacious 22.7-liter storage compartment capable of holding 2 helmets along with other personal belongings.

However, the 2022 Honda Air Blade 150cc boasts additional exciting features that the 125cc variant lacks. Specifically, the 150cc model is equipped with advanced ABS brake technology for added safety and peace of mind in unexpected situations. Additionally, the 150cc version comes with a 12W USB charging port for quick and convenient charging of mobile devices.

On the other hand, the Air Blade 125cc does not include a USB port and relies solely on disc brakes for the front wheel and drum brakes for the rear.

- Engine Differences

Here we can easily observe the difference between the 150cc and 125cc versions.

The Honda Air Blade 125cc is equipped with an eSP engine, single cylinder, liquid-cooled. It allows the scooter to generate a maximum power of 11.26 kW at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11.26 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The Honda Air Blade 150cc is also equipped with an eSP engine, single cylinder, air-cooled, but with a larger displacement of 150cc, enabling the scooter to produce a maximum power of 12.8 kW at 8,500 rpm. The maximum torque of the scooter reaches 13.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

- Difference in Fuel Consumption

Due to the engine differences, the 125cc version has a relatively fuel-efficient consumption rate of 1.99 liters per 100 km, whereas the Honda Air Blade 150cc consumes 2.17 liters per 100 km.
